Hibari liked to think that he was always—always—in control of himself. He liked to think that that control couldn’t be broken, no matter what any outside force did to him and what they did to try and sway him. Someone like Kyoya Hibari couldn’t be swayed. He was the invincible head of the disciplinary committee at Namimori Junior High.

But when he heard the crack of that whip, the hiss of air by his ear, the tinkling laugh of that stupid Tenth Cavallone... it was like something inside him snapped. ‘Sparring’—as Cavallone liked to call it—with Dino was like nothing Hibari had ever done before. Everybody else he’d fought had been an almost easy win.

He didn’t count that battle back at Kokyou with the sakura surrounding him and that bastard’s stupid chuckle and his fucking illusions....

With Dino, it was a challenge. And Hibari never refused a challenge. He took it with a ferocious grin and the thought that maybe this time he would finally bite the stupid herbivore to death.

But it never got that far. Cavallone would always find some way to block each and every attack, like he knew them all already. By the end, they were both bloodied, bruised and panting but with no apparent winner. The blond would laugh—that fucking laugh—and ask him, in that annoyingly cheerful voice, “Same time tomorrow?”

Hibari would snap his teeth like an angry dog. But he would always come back.

Why? Because it was exhilarating. The fact that he couldn’t beat this person was thrilling in so many ways for the teen....

In so many ways that he came back home one day sporting a massive erection. He couldn’t place the exact reason for this... peculiar reaction, but he wasn’t about to question it. He flopped back on the bed and shuffled out of his pants—he was still covered in dried blood and his hands still slight sticky with sweat, but at this point he didn’t care.
